    Hi guys!

New to the forum, first post.

The name is Phil, I'm 24 years of age, I'm English but live in Belgium and i have a dream: My girlfriends dad has this old Honda, the CB 400F. A beauty behind the dirt and rust that has covered it during these last 15 years. My holiday plan is to do my very best to give it a second life.

Here are a few pics to give you an idea:

First of all if any of you could give me a few basic guidelines on how to get started, i mean anything that you could think of is ABSOLUTELY WELCOME because i have never worked on a bike before. I am planning on getting the Haynes manual for it but here is the problem:

The CB400F 408 cc Four, was produced in 2 models from 1975 through 1977.

This is all i have found to identify the model

    TYPE: CB 400 F
    FRAME NR: 1017387

Another question would be: Do you guys think it is possible/affordable to get it running again? Wrom what i have been told the bike was dismanteld 15 years ago to replace a few parts but was never really put back together, even through the bike WORKED before the dismanteling even begun!

    So voilą!

I think thats about enough for an introduction. As i said, any comment is welcome.

    Cheers!

    Phil.

if that has been sitting outside for 15 years with velocity stacks  the first thing I would do is make sure the engine isn't seized the run a compression check on the cylinders.
You don't want to spend a bunch of time or money on something that is going to need major engine work. Good luck

Honda CB 400F is one of the best bike from honda..After introducing the four-cylinder CB750 motorcycle in 1969, Honda Motor Company followed with a string of lighter fours featuring engines as small as 350 cc..This is also one of the best selling bike also.
