I do a lot of bike maintenance and repairs for friends and family and often need access to manuals to do the work of course.

When ever I try to download anything from your site I just get grief.  I do not know if it is me screwing up or if there is a problem with your site.

Your site states a limit imposed on free accounts of 3 files and 100MB every month which to start with would probably be fine for what I do.  I would be perfectly happy to subscribe monthly for the convenience of being able to access info when needed but to start with it would be good to see the free download side of it work.

Today when I tried to download a manual this message appeared:

Error: Sorry but you are not allowed to download this file as you have exceeded the number of files you are allowed to download during this period. Please check your user control panel for more information on the limits currently available to you.. If you believe this to be in error, please quote the above error and report this to the admin

When in fact I have not downloaded anything in this period. The user control panel page shows:

    Remaining bandwidth:   159.38 MB remaining
Bandwidth time remaining:    0 Days, 0 Hours, 0 Minutes
    Files remaining:    0 files remaining
Files time remaining:    0 Days, 0 Hours, 0 Minutes

And states If either of your limits reaches zero you will not be able to download files.
What does this mean and why?

I have been reading other posts and it appears that there is a lot of people having problems and one bloke I just read is calling it a scam after spending his time and money trying for days to download something. I know how he feels as I have spent plenty of time trying to down load things, but to your credit in the past I have down loaded a thing or two but it is hard work.

Can you please help? Will it get simpler, easier?

    Regards Brendan.

Mjello - quite accurate describtion, how ever, no news, since most of us have been there too. And any PM to admin doesn't help either.

Brendan, I can assure you this site is not a scam.
The Admin has personal problems and can't be here to help currently. He was on a few weeks ago and hired a tech service to repair any problems but I can see there are still issues. If I had contact with them or more powers than I do here I would help. But alas, my powers here are limited.
I have emailed him a week ago or so and have yet to get a reply.
I'm sure the will be back, he has too much invested in this site to just let it go.
    Please be patient.
